Pizza places in the United States run from a counter with two stools and a stack of boxes to a full sit-down pizzeria with a bar, and most neighborhood shops do all three things at once: dine-in, takeout and delivery. Ordering by phone is still common and often faster than an app, and many independents charge less when you call direct because there is no platform fee. Sizes are usually listed in inches (a small around 10", a large 14", an extra-large 16" or more), and a large feeds two to three adults. Slices are sold from a display case at New York-style counters and reheated to order; whole pies take 15-25 minutes at a busy shop. Most spots take cards and mobile pay, though a few older pizzerias remain cash-only, so check the door or the listing before you order.
Hours are published for 6 days a week. On most of those days it is open 7 am–7:30 pm. Note that it does not open on Sunday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (717) 354-8222. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. More information is available on its website, shady-maple.com.

Parking was great, sitting down process took a about 20 minutes, because there was a huge line. Once we started eating stuff was good. I would stay away from the NY strip, unseasoned and hard like a shoe, burger was unseasoned, but a really lovely texture. Sausages a bit salty. Everything else was very delightful! All the fried stuff from jalapeño poppers to the fried shrimp, delicious. My favorite was the mashed sweet potato, creamy and cinnamony, yum! They also offer coffee of all sorts the cookies and cream capuccino was rich and tasty. The sweets selection was a tad overwhelming and big portions so I recommend sharing with a group so you can try a bit of everything. Cheesecake was good, velvet cake and ice cream a little underwhelming. A little pricey, but understandable for all the variety, they have more foods than I can name. Ps. The crab cake was also very yummy especially with the bobs boom sauce, the crunchy outside with the creamy inside, chefs kiss!

Discovered this place several years ago. And it is absolutely a destination. Usually I’m here for breakfast and then continue on to Gettysburg. This time I got here for lunch service. It was just as good as breakfast. Got a nice slab of their legendary smoked brisket. The attendant cut me a nice thick meaty, juicy, fatty slab. It was totally unctuous and delicious. The potatoes, fish, shrimp and side dishes were superb as well.

A rite of passage for anyone visiting the Lancaster County area is eating at Shady Maple. The place is absolutely massive. We went on a Saturday night during summer and the place was packed, but we went at 630pm and although we waited about 15 minutes to get seated, the place started clearing out soon after we got there. There is so much to choose from and 3 grills and a carving station. They were slicing brisket and it was juicy and tender. Is the food fine dining? Nope, but it's also not Golden Corral. It's good, fresh food. I want to come back for breakfast. Staff was all very friendly.

Spent a vacation visiting Philly, Hershey and Lancaster. Was actually at Shady Maple twice. One for a birthday dinner (you eat free as long as you have another person paying a meal) and the next time for a breakfast/lunch. You can eat both if timed correctly, and just pay the difference for the lunch option. For a buffet, the food was actually really good with tons of choices. Top that off with it being run by the Pennsylvania Dutch, the quality was for the most part on point. Bakery was top tier. There were a few items on the buffet that weren’t as good as others, but with over 240 selections, there’s plenty of options. The steak dinner offered several variations of steak to choose from. Breakfast options were really good as well. Take some time to look at the 3D art on the walls and to visit the different shops and grocery store located beside the restaurant. Must stop for the largest buffet in the US.

🍽️ Shady Maple Smorgasbord 📍 129 Toddy Dr, East Earl, PA 17519 🕘 Lunch Visit This review reflects my personal experience as both a customer and a chef. Overall Impression The place is massive, and it was packed when we arrived on a Saturday. The lines felt endless, so patience is definitely required. It’s important to remember that this is a buffet—variety and volume are the focus. I wouldn’t recommend eating beforehand if you want to get your money’s worth. Highlights & Observations Service: Considering the size of the operation, the staff does a solid job. There are employees constantly cleaning tables, restocking stations, and keeping things moving. The dining room is enormous and very typical of a large buffet setup. Food: There’s a lot of it—and a lot of variety. With close to 400 items available, you’ll find everything from salads and desserts to meats and seafood. As expected with a buffet of this scale, some dishes are better than others. My Favorites: • Buffalo wings • Sweet chili shrimp • New York strip steak Final Thoughts: It’s worth visiting at least once, especially if you’re nearby and curious about one of the largest buffet operations around. Nothing was bad
